Report of our Quad Week-end Dear Friends and Those, who have just become one, many-many thanks to you and everyone from the whole Quad-Balaton Team, you were just FUNtastic. For those who missed out on our first quad week-end on the Lake Balaton, here's a little report. When about 3 weeks ago Franz (Pres of the "Weicheier") told me that we should organize a quad meeting i was somewhat suspicious. I told him that we are just abuot to retreat into our winter sleep and to shape up the scrap-iron machines we bought from our so called dear German friend. Nevertheless, I have to admit that on the whole the event was a success and I'm positive about the fact that all of those organisers who stayed behind in my first home land would be pretty happy if they were the ones behind the scenes by such a gathering. With the help of Immo, those who don't know him can only blame themselves..., and a blog in his new home page http:/blog.atv-magazin.com/ a few telephone calls and a part of the Austrian "Weicheier" we were able to lure 53 vehicles from several different conutries to our place here in Hungary. We spent 150 km off-road in about 2days and swallowed down about 100 Liters of Gulash. Two grilled porklings and 150 Liters of beer dissapeared in hungry and thirsty Quadmouths. Not to mention the 40 rolls of toilet paper, which were used up, just to mention a few academic facts. And if you asked our bartender, he would tell you that even one day after the event, he is still not finished with carrying off empty bottles of quintessential alcoholic drinks and clearing away the last evidence of the drinkikng that took place during the week-end. Altough he is a Quad driver himself (LTZ 400) and he couldn't resist taking part in the trip, he still managed to give out enough drinks so that nobody went to bed sober. Oh, yes, we still have to thank our Slovenian, Romanian, Hungarian, Austrian, and German friends for staying so disciplined despite everything and for keeping such order. We are also proud to say that in spite of the fact that quite a few of us fell over, we could keep our Safari Jeep (which is used in case of an emergency) on its parking space throughout the weekend instead of making a ride to the hospital. All in all it was an international Quad week-end, which we will organise, what is more, have to organise again... Not just once in the coming year, but twice. Now we've come to the end, so I wish you ALL the very best, as well as an an accident-free trip on your off-road tracks. We also express our greatest respect to the three paraplegic participants of the event, who were soaring faster and higher through the grounds than anybody else.
